Well... It's been awhile!
I have been gone and busy working out and training for a 5k, so quilting has taken a back seat. But this past weekend I dove right back in : )
I spent the last couple of days working on Hobo blocks. Here you go:
Cowards - Will Give to Get Rid of You
Danger
Dangerous Drinking Water
Dangerous Neighborhood
Dishonest Person Lives Here
Doctor, No Charge
Don't Give Up
Don't Go This Way
Doubtful
Easy Mark
Fake Illness
Whew!!!! I didn't realize how many blocks I finished until I had to upload and edit the photos.
I am hoping that this week I can start quilting the Seaside Welcome wallhanging.
Happy Quilting...

Holy Giraffe, Batman!
I know, I know... A little corny. I guess that's what happens when you spend a weekend with a nephew who is into Superheroes : )
It all stems from this cute fabric I picked up from my mother's fabric stash:
I took a stack & whack class a week ago and turned that giraffe fabric into this:
This hardest part was getting my 6 cuts of fabric all lined up correctly, but I must say it didn't turn out badly! I will fill in with probably an orange fabric. I think I can find what I need if I dig through my stash of fabric. I did manage to finish all these 37 blocks in one weekend, but then had no desire to quilt all last week : )
The book we used was One Block Wonders by Maxine Rosenthal.
Yesterday I did get 2 more blocks done from the Hobo Block series. Will post those later.
We leave Thursday for Knoxville. My daughter-in-law graduates from veterinary school, so we are excited to have the family together again, as my daughter and her family will also be there!
Also, I want to wish my grandson, Nikolas, a happy 3rd birthday!!!

Hobo Sign blocks update...
I did get a number of Hobo Sign blocks done...
Bread
Camp Here
Catch Out Here
Catch Trolley Here
Chain Gang
Cops Active
These are so much fun to make! They are small, 6-1/2" unfinished, and they are all different, so you aren't do the same thing over and over again.

Welcome complete...
Today we had a great day! We had a slow rain most of the day, which is sorely needed!! We are dry, dry, dry : ( So, it was a good day to spend in my sewing room : )
I finished the top to my Beach Welcome. I had to make a quick visit to my local quilt shop to find the right color thread to machine applique the stars towards the bottom of the wall hanging.
After figuring out which fabric I wanted to use, I had to find it!! Easier said than done : ) It took about 30-45 minutes, but I found it! I have the piece basted and ready for quilting. I think I have a plan on how I want to quilt the wall hanging, so I look forward to getting started.

Then I began thinking about what to use for the backing... Then I remembered I had a pebble fabric that I bought a while ago. I thought it would go with the theme of the front of the wall hanging.
